It’s quartz.
Not as heat tolerant as granite, but it’s very durable and low maintenance.
I’ve been eyeing quartz countertops for a while now. Can you give me some pros and cons? You can PM if you like. When you say less heat tolerant, do you mean you cant out a pot on it or ...?

Adorable! I had fun with the eyeballs to

Granite needs sealed every 6-12 months. Porous to stains.
Quartz doesn’t need sealed. Not being solid stone, it has a epoxy type binder to help fill gaps. It’s not porous because of this, but CAN develop dark spots if hot pans are set on it. 200-250 degrees is ok. We’re talking oven hot or frying hot pans.

I had granite in my previous house. I prefer the look of stone and it’s more cost effective.

I would only need less than 10 sq ft, but have been dragging my feet on it anyways. Mainly because of the cost. I usually use a potholder, but thats good to know since I want white. I have a granite looking pattern with dark tans & browns. Very hard to see if it’s clean without running your hand over it. I want to see that my counter is clean šŸ˜‚
Thanks!

I hate my pattern for this very reason. It’s never dirty, unless you run your hand over it.
