It's been awhile since I've had anything small and fuzzy running around the brooder, I've been researching ducks recently and think I would like to try raising them.

Breed doesn't really matter to me, neither does if they are SQ, they're just to be raised as pets. I would prefer that they are and egg laying breed. Color isn't really that big of a deal either, though if I could hatch some that are sexable by down plumage that would be a major plus!

Please let me know what y'all have! I am in Oakland, CA. Zip is 94605.

Nope, sorry, just regular ol' Rouens, LOL. Here is a picture of them. It's not very good because it is almost dark here, but I can get some better ones tomorrow afternoon.

Wow too bad We didn't make contact a year ago.I was Sooooo over run with duckling's and egg's!This year I only have 4 pekin hen's one drake pekin a cayuga mix drake and some mallard drakes.I have gotten 2 egg's so far and put them in bator last week.My last flock was mostly crested and sadly I didn't really even get them started laying before having to move and sell them all.Duckling's Are a lot of work so be prepared but I find them very rewarding in the long run.
here are a few pics of the ones I had

I don't think my one large hen is laying right now (she's a rouen, and I have rouen and black swedish drakes in with her), too bad! If she was I'd just have you pay shipping. She lays like a champ during the spring and summer, I don't even know how I end up with as many duck eggs as I do.

Good luck in your quest!
