WANTED: Ducks in Northern California

I am looking for at least one female and possibly a male as well of any breed. I have a lonely female in need of companionship. She needs at least one other female. I will take a male but only with another female so that he doesn’t harass her too much. I have a big yard with chickens in their own pen and goats in another. The duck gets the rest of the yard to free range and eat the slugs that kill my garden.

Hi, have you checked Craigslist farm and garden section? I see ducks for sale all the time in there. Sometimes posted on boards at the local feed stores as well. Just use discernment when talking to the current owner to be sure they aren't pushing a problem off to you. People get over their animal keeping adventure all the time. Or sadly our life sometimes dictates the need to dispense with our feathered friends. So you can find good animals sometimes.

I'm a little farther north in CA, and had all those fun animals too!

Thanks, yeah I’ve been watching Craiglist but I don’t really want to drive two hours. If I can’t find any I’ll buy ducklings online
