Congrats and good luck to everyone!

Just curious. When everyone removes their turners tomorrow and locks down to prepare for hatch day -how are you placing the eggs in your bator? I've read differing views from laying on their side with large end slightly raised as in natural position - to leaving them in an egg carton. I was just curious as to what method everyone was using? I have a homemade bator so I'm still trying to make my final decision on what method to try.

I'm still a couple weeks off from hatch date (June 21st), but I plan to leave mine in the egg carton and just stop tilting the 'bator from side to side and up my humidity. I've heard differing opinions on this, as I have on letting them hatch in the turner (other than the mess factor, I've heard they can get stuck underneath the turner), so I'm curious to see what everyone else is doing

I'm so sad....this was my first incubator hatch...apparently my bator was inconsistant on the heat...none of my eggies made it...

BUT...so far all the eggies under my hens have made it....I am up to 24 chicks and still counting. I have 5 hens still setting with probably 30 eggs under them.

I feed my hens chick starter in the nest as they are setting...does anyone else?
