And thanks for the link! I already saw that though. They look like they could be nice, but I'm kinda hoping to be able to show THIS year, not wait until next year for the boy to molt!

Hey I have a friend that has SQ Samatras--They are gorgeous. I will contact him & tell him to sign on & get w/you. His are really nice! He has the Blacks & the White Samatras. I think I have even seen in his bloodline one w/4 Spurrs. I will give him a call today.

Thank you SO much Bitty Girl, that's so helpful of you! Just be sure that his are bantams, since most breeders have the standard size instead of bantams! (I personally want the bigger ones but Alyssa -silkieluvr- doesn't!

Okay I will check for the Bantams from him. Not a problem so it took so long to reply but I have been in & out of town this week picking up birds.lol

Hi Bitty Girl. thanks so much on the offer, but nevermind! Alyssa's mom (who actually OWNS the ranch we keep our chickens on) says she thinks sumatras are ugly and she doesnt want any on her land!

She actually LIKES those.
I'm so bummed, I've always wanted a long tail breed.

Well try the Proto Ongadori! They are really pretty & they put the Samatra tail to shame. That is what I am doing. I thought I wanted the Samatra--to me the tail wasnt long enough so I thought I wanted the Pheonix or BB reds then I found out that the dispotion was obnoxious so I did even MORE research & found out about the Yokahomas & the Ongadori & now I am hooked--There tail has a potential realistically of 10 foot But if you get a REALLY good one like Cy Hyde bloodline(like mine)lol they can get longer than that. Onagadori Original bloodlines they can get up to a 30 foot long tail I think Cy has ones that are that long or close to it. I dont keep mine like some of the breeders do & I just started doing it so I have tail lengths w/in about 2 months of 3 foot or so long so far & that was from ones that came from little pens that kept stepping on the tails & having the hens pluck all the tail feathers out. I havent had that problem w/mine so far on this breed. Or go one better & get cha a long tail pheasant there aint NOBODY that will tell you a Lady Amherst is ugly.LOL I have them to. I LOVE them. And everybody that comes in my yard wants to buy them or the babies one.LOL
