Wanted to adopt- Boston Terrier UPDATE WITH PICS

Those poms are so cute

I have a little female pom. She is the most loyal, loving dog I have ever seen in my life.

In my experience, they also know that they have been "rescued" and are even more loving and loyal. It takes a little while to get over the things they don't know. Some have never been on grass, most go to the bathroom in their crate, some are afraid to be picked up at first. It's the little things. They quickly overcome these habits and live out the rest of their lives thankful.

You are so right. These dogs flinch when we go to pick them up. They don't seem to know how to walk up and down stairs; they hate grass. They were running around in little circles in my daughter's room - like they have never been free. They have not barked yet. They stay wherever you put them. They are going to have to learn how to be spoiled. But they are so happy every time they see us. They are grateful. They did not even have names, these poor little things. We named one Kisse because she is just a little kisser. She enjoys the attention that we have been giving her so much. She has no idea what she is in for. It is just beginning.

What you are describing is very typical. They have lived their lives in a cage doing their "job". They were fed, watered, vaccinated, etc. but that was the extent. They have been pulled out of crates but not picked up from the ground so you are big and scary to them right now. The Boston that I have dances around my hands still when I am in a standing position but as soon as I crouch, she is all over me. They have never had stairs, nor grass. The circles often resemble them walking around the perimeter of their crate, their only form of entertainment and exercise. They will learn to bark...trust me. They will bark in excitement for you because they LOVE you. These are the many reasons I do what I do and I love the results. I know you and your daughter will too.

Well, you have made us very happy. We are grateful. What is even better than getting a new pet for yourself is knowing that you are making a difference in an innocent creature's life. This is so, so much better than getting a new puppy.
