What a handsome fellow! I am sorry he is no longer with you. I hope you have lots of good memories and lots of pictures to help you thru the tuff times..Dixie

I am sorry for your loss.
When my friend lost her horse(she had him for 25 years), I had a picture of him enlarged and framed with a lock of his mane. I hope it doesn't sound corny, but if you had any of his feathers maybe you could do something like that as a tribute to him.

Gosh,
Thank you all for the sympathy wishes. I sure wish I had thought to take a feather from him. He has been buried for a little while now, I don't think I could get one now.

I do have lots of memories of him. He was my very first chicken. I can remember the very first morning I had him, (My MIL got him at an auction but did not know what to do with him so I took him) He woke me up crowing his beautiful loud crow. I thought it was the most beautiful sound. He woke me every morning after that for the last 4 years. I sure do miss him. Wish I could have him back here with me. I also have another favorite memory of him. We had a bad snow here 2 years ago. Harley was trying to get back to his coop but the snow was too deep. He went under my patio and just sat there. I went out and called for him he came to the edge of the patio and just looked at me. I bent down and picked him up! He snuggled his little head right up under my chin, almost as if he were hugging me and saying thanks mom.

My hubby actually took a pic of us walking back to the coop through the deep snow and blowing wind. Wow do I miss him dearly. Here is the pic. It was taken with a cell phone so it is kinda hard to see. But if you look close you can see Harley's tail feathers sticking down by my side.

I would love to hear your favorite memories of your lost beloved chickens.
