You can say that about most things. The answer is, it is easier to buy mass produced stuff than to take the time to make it proper.
You want it. Do you want it now or do you want it good? Choose the good. The world needs more goodness.
Case in point is Banana Nut Bread. I haven't found a store bought one that comes close to the taste and smell of taking one hot out of the oven, smearing butter all over it and lovingly, delicately, and sensuously eating every crumb of it. The anticipation that arises from filling the house with the smell is indescribable.
Should we discuss a good slow smoked cut of wild game compared to a, oh, I don't know, a hamburger patty of unknown provenance?
