DS did 19 miles in a single day in a Burley trailer ... at nine months old. I did the Baltimore Tour de Port twice ... pregnant both times (I never rode it again, never brave enough for a third! My "pet" bike shop went under during Covid, so now I have to find another place to restring brake lines. DS doesn't have the right tool to go through the frame or we'd do it ourselves. I miss my rides!
Oh wow :ep

Get yourself a hybrid - you'll be able to handle the best of both worlds. And DO NOT buy someone's old bike that they've "had for years but I never ride it, so it's like new!" Go to a bike shop and let them evaluate what you need. A good one will even help you find a good used bike, if they can. Lots of people come in for upgrades and have bikes to sell. A good cyclist - like at a real bike shop, not like the sales reps at WalMart or other big box stores - wants to get you hooked on the hobby, so you'll come back for a better bike and fancy accessories later on. Like having a good mechanic on-hand, a bike shop is a relationship worth cultivating, especially once you start needing tune-ups and repairs.
Thank you! This is really helpful! Maybe I should ask SIL about it sometime. I’m sure she’d know a good place to start or good shot or whatever or could maybe even help me with the bikes we have here.

I've grown guineas out in the house. The very back bedroom closet.

It still wasn't far enough away.
:lau I didn’t mind the chickens too much (besides the DUST! :ep :th ) but when I had the quail inside, man they really start to stink!! Even with cleaning it tons lol

You know it!!

This is amazing!! Thank you!! :love I guess I don’t really know the terms or whatever cause I assumed trails were somewhat considered mountain biking too? Or at least not road hahah probably not true 😂 cause I know SIL has a special super skinny road bike. Around here the roads are pretty quiet but in the city the bike lane is right next to the cars for a lot of it and often blocked 😤 and also even around here there’s a few spots where cars zoom by so yeah I think trail would be better LOL I know there’s a lot of bike trails down on the Cape and we actually walked part of one in NH so maybe I need to look that up. I’m sure there’s more. There’s this big trail that goes across the whole state that I’ve thought would be fun haha
And I’ve heard of a really cool one in I wanna say Idaho maybe?
There are lots of places closer to you than that for starters! Set yourself a goal to ride down The Cape. It's a rolling ride - few real hills, but challenging enough to make it fun- and the towns are so close together that there's always a place to stop for a bite and a drink. The best part about biking the Cape is the restraint. You can't buy much "stuff" in all the neat little shops, but that lets you be more selective. If you like something enough to go back with your money and the car, buy it. If it's not worth that much effort, think of the money you'll save!

You've obviously never baked with teenagers. Have you ever seen the cafeteria scene in Animal House ... ???
Oh, I have.
There is no such thing as a mess with batter or frosting when the baker and their helper believes in licking the bowl, the spatula, the beaters, any drips ...you get the point. ;)
When the eggs come from your own flock daily, licking the bowl is perfectly legal.
