I WISH! I definitely have bowl lickers, but I also have a daughter who is fascinated by the workings of the beaters. She insists on lifting them up to "study" how they mesh so beautifully without locking up. DS can't resist goosing her while she's engrossed, which inevitably results in a dropped mixer ... and that's what leads to Animal House replays. I get mad, but the dogs have a field day. The last Family Baking Day we had, Crazy Dog made a mad dash for a dropped spoon ... and all Hades ensued. Lesson learned. Crazy Dog is NOT allowed in the kitchen on baking days! One of these days, baking will be lonely and I'll wish my goofballs were here to help again ... so I can't bring myself to ban them from "assisting" when they want to. Until then, I'll deal with the dog spit and dishrags ...Oh, I have.
There is no such thing as a mess with batter or frosting when the baker and their helper believes in licking the bowl, the spatula, the beaters, any drips ...you get the point.
When the eggs come from your own flock daily licking the bowl is perfectly legal.
OMGCuz they EAT 'EM! Destroys the evidence and helps 'em GROW!
Thank you!!! This sounds amazing!! Think I’m gonna try this hahah I normally don’t really like the Cape though cause my mom always used to drag me down there and still sometimes does. She’s obsessed. There are lots of places closer to you than that for starters! Set yourself a goal to ride down The Cape. It's a rolling ride - few real hills, but challenging enough to make it fun- and the towns are so close together that there's always a place to stop for a bite and a drink. The best part about biking the Cape is the restraint. You can't buy much "stuff" in all the neat little shops, but that lets you be more selective. If you like something enough to go back with your money and the car, buy it. If it's not worth that much effort, think of the money you'll save!
Oh wow!! That’s so far!! LOL that’s crazy!I'll never ride like thatagain ... that was many pounds ago! But DS does, and occasionally drags his sister along wth him. He could probably ride competitively. His father did a Century (100 miles in a day) Not me ... I'm not that ambitious ... or crazy!

Ehh, pretty sure he wasn’t but I do know the rest of you are majority of the time and point taken lol and besides, even if not, I do need to work on ignoring shiz. Don’t in real life either lol and I guess I don’t have to start looking yet thenYou, my Dear Lady, are WAY too easy to get riled! We're yanking your (bicycle) chain ... again! Of course you have time to get a bike. You don't really have to even START looking until you've finished unpacking ...
That was the first and last.I only hatch in the house. Nothing gets brooded in the house.
Now you're getting the idea!![]()
I have to be careful, though. I'm, technically, not supposed to have chickens, but we have a waiver because of 4H. DD has almost aged out, so I don't know how long we're grandfathered in. I'm counting on the fact that most people can't tell the difference between one chicken and another, so my "little red hens" will have reeaaaaaaaaaaally long life spans. I mean, who knew that chickens could live 20 years, right?
Maybe.Hmmm ... now THAT explains a LOT!![]()
And bacon bits.Of course you can eat them ... where else do you think those tiny vienna sausages come from? Ducks?
I totally agree with both @CindyinSD & @MROO on the "1st bike for you". You will likely be getting a 26" wheel bike. Your legs are likely close to mine in length. I'm 6'2" and can ride a 24" bike with the seat raised a good distance up & the handlebars stem almost maxed out.I’m 5’ 11” (I actually might be like 5’ 10 3/4 now, I’m shrinking LOL). Very long legs though haha
Bike riding does sound amazing though.SIL bikes a lot both mountain and road so I bet she could help me but you’re right, bikes are very expensive. I was looking last night just for curiosity sake and I had no idea.

but I’m sure we have plenty that will work haha
I’m not sure yet if I want to ride on a road or trail. I feel like a trail would be scaryand I do like hiking. But I don’t really like regular walking on the road so maybe I’ll do biking for that. Idk.
Mine stay in until they're about two weeks old when it's nice out, but I've kept at least one batch in until they were four weeks ... what a mess!I only hatch in the house. Nothing gets brooded in the house.
mr muddy says it’s basically cancelled nationwide!?!?I heard that LA has already cancelled Trick or Treating. Anyone else?
