You can still breed if you get a mixed flock. If you plan to sell ducklings you won't be able to charge as much for mixed breed and you might have a hard time selling. However, if you plan to just raise for your own meat you won't have to worry about that.
That is exactly why if i do a drake I would like a purebred flock. I wouldn’t want to not be able to re-home babies easily. If I were to breed I would likely butcher drakes and offer ducks for sale if we didn’t want to keep them.
