Crowing
Not all predators kill livestock. These were habituated to killing livestock and would be a problem to someone else if transported.Well, I don’t blame you, but I would have driven them far far away and released them.

You could probably do that in Alaska like that one guy said, since the population is so sparse there may not be any other chicken ranchers for the ferrets to bother, but here in the Lower 48 it's more likely you would be making them somebody else's problem. And if some misguided soul made them MY problem I would curse them quite soundly! Not to mention they may be killed off by a different animal for suddenly "trespassing" in their territory, or starve to death if they can't find a stable space. It's like grabbing a person from like Miami and telling them to go find a spot to live in New York, but only with the cash in their pocket and the clothes on their back
Yeah, but odds are that another animal already has made that their territory, and most aren't willing jist justly suddenly share what they consider theirs with another intruder. There isn't a reason why an animal should be caught and released unless its something illegal to kill. You could probably do that in Alaska like that one guy said, since the population is so sparse there may not be any other chicken ranchers for the ferrets to bother, but here in the Lower 48 it's more likely you would be making them somebody else's problem. Lost its fear of people and killing livestock. It was screeching at me when ever I even got close to the cage........... it didnt make any noise at all when it went for its swim.
It was charging the cage trying to get my hands
Exactly. We caught a raccoon a couple of years ago, and, not being prepared to deal with it any other way, took it off and released it. It was a learning experience for us. In our ten years of chicken keeping it was our first experience with a predator so we were unprepared. We realized it was a mistake and felt really bad about it. I have since purchased a high-powered pellet rifle and learned how to use it, but we haven't had any other intruders. I hope we don't!Yeah, but odds are that another animal already has made that their territory, and most aren't willing jist justly suddenly share what they consider theirs with another intruder.
