We've done leftovers up to 4 or 5 days. That's usually how long it lasts. Over 2 weeks was a REALLY bad idea - but you figured that out the hard way. Sorry you got sick!
Pizza - we have left out over night with no issues. But again, in our house leftovers don't last long. I have 2 teenagers and a husband who eats like 3 18 year old football players!!!!!
Saltines and ginger ale are your best bet. Ginger settles the stomach. The baking soda in the crackers also does. The cracker themselves will absorb all the stomach acid to settle you stomach down and salt helps to absorb and retain water to slow down the bathroom trips.
Also, sip and nibble! Don't eat/drink any of it too fast (not that you probably feel like eating or drinking anything)
I don't take OTC meds of any kind unless absolutely necessary. Home remedies are best - IMHO. I don't know about vinegar, but my grandfather swore by a shot glass of vinegar with a tsp of honey in it every morning!
