Warning!!! Adorable Baby Coturnix Quail!!!

Great. Remember to separate the Golden females from the Golden Males, or, expect lower hatch rates from their eggs. If that is what you are doing. Everyone raises them for different reasons.

Did you get any more tuxedos?

Next week we want pictures again if not before.

Maybe we should just have a labeled picture section, so we can all just ohh,ahh and drool. They are so small and soooo cute.

Beautiful!!! I love the dark ones. I've only had one dark baby hatch out this batch, but I hope for more before is over. BTW....how do you do the band-aid thing for the legs?? I had one hatch yesterday...the dark one, wouldn't you know it...and it's feet are real curled, it doesn't stand up. I figured I will lose it.

But I'd do anything that might help.....

I don't think the bandaid thing works for crooked toes. They usually straighten out by themselves, but in severe cases I have heard about people splinting them. I haven't tried it myself, but it does seem to happen more often with my darker babies. I changed out roosters, thinking it might be genetic.

Here's the latest pics:

Just one little Tuxedo, but I'll be able to use the whites out of this hatch to start breeding for some more. I don't think I'll be hatching again for awhile, so I'll have to enjoy these enough to last through the winter.
