Hey everyone, I mentioned in October my chicken Zimri was attacked by a dog and has since been on the road to recovery around week two of recovery she stopped putting weight on one of her legs and began hopping. and has been every since. the only indication of anything wrong I seen here was yellow skin. Today she has blood in her doghouse and I see a hole and what seems to be blood clots. I have no idea what to do. any info helps. Thanks. @coach723 @Eggcessive @BigBlueHen53 @Wyorp Rock

Oh my, is she still alive or did she die? Could she have been pecked or attacked? That is what it looks like. Blood and yellow skin could be from fatty liver hemorrhagic disease, but if she was attacked that may not be the case. Cancer could also be a possibility. Was she in the coop or outside? Do any of the other chickens have blood on them?

@Eggcessive Yes, she is still alive.

No, everything is secure and there is no sign of a predator trying to get in there. If a predator did get to her, I don't know why it would get her in one spot then leave.

Could you explain what exactly this is?
Cancer could also be a possibility.
Yikes! How could I rule that out?

She was outside in an old dog house. No one else has any blood on them.

That wound just looks too bad to survive. I would try to make her comfortable and warm. Treat for shock with water with sugar 1/2 tsp per cup or electrolytes. Hold gauze over her wound to try and stop bleeding. Separate her. You are the best judge as to whether or not she can survive this. I would be tempted to humanely euthanize her. Fatty liver disease and cancer can cause internal bleeding. Sometimes the abdominal wall can be penetrated or burst open if there is a hernia.
