warning, venting about ducks

Again, if you were serious and mature about owning ducks you would have kept the ones you had and made better provisions for their care. You could have gotten a blow-up pool - it's what mine uses - cost $5 at dollar store and came with floating ring and beach ball

. You could have made many other arrangements for their care. I'm sorry but it really just sounds like you lost interest in them and caring for them and I'm betting that's what your parents saw also.

Ducks require a lot of upkeep. I change their pool water daily and their drinking water two and three times a day just to keep it clean. I have to herd them into coop each night for their own protection and then out to fenced run "Duck Yard" area each morning. All day long I check on them. One day, in just a couple of minutes, my dog caught and killed 6 of them when I let them out for a minute to play in the yard with us. Hubby and I were both right there and neither of us saw her do it - it happend that fast.

Point is - pet ownership is a big responsibility and not one to be taken on lightly. Listen to your parents, show some maturity and take good care for any other pets you may have and some day your parents may reconsider.
