OH ok. lets pretend that she got it OK? Hee hee.Shadowfire was getting sicker (is that a word?) earlier, and I was wondering why because she got the Catmint.
Brackenfur paced outside of the warriors den. It was a cold night and his breath billowed out in a foggy cloud. He breathed heavily, and scraped the ground with his claws. He needed something to do. Something to get his mind off his old clan mate lying there, helpless. He shook himself, and padded out of camp. The cold scent of moss and moist earth reached his nose. It calmed him. Now to hunt. He thought happily. He breathed deeply, and caught the scent of a water vole, not to far away. Must be near that steam down the path. He thought. He padded down the path and heard the sound of swiftly running water. Hmmm, sounds deep. He didn't want to swim, and thought the vole wouldn't either. He flattened himself into the ground, when he saw movement at the edge of the stream. He stalked closer. His paws soundless in the soft moss. The vole, unaware that Brackenfur was almost two feet away, busily gathered tiny seeds in the soft dirt. Brackenfur leaped and caught the vole in his paws. He killed it with a swift bite. He looked around, and sighed. He was so lonely. He shrugged the feeling off, picked up his catch, and padded towards camp. Wondering if anyone knew he had gone.Mintpaw was exhausted by the time the sun set. Sootfur hadn't gotten any better or worse, Shadowfire was recovering, and Mintpaw still wanted to die of shame. She was asleep earlier than any of her den mates.
She dreamed about the barn she had lived in before. Mintpaw stood in the cornfield and heard voices. "Mint!" a female voice called. She saw her littermates, Ash and Sage, pacing. "Those stupid Clan cats kidnapped her!" Ash growled.
Sage's emerald eyes widened. "We have to find her!"
They ran in the direction of the forest.
Mintpaw woke up, wondering if her siblings were really looking for her, or if it was just a dream.
Nope! I hope to keep it alive too!Aha! This thread hasn't died after all!
Brackenfur walked up to apprentices den. He pushed through the ferns that covered the entrance and peered inside. He stood frozen for awhile until his eyes got accustomed to the darkness. "Mintpaw?" he whispered, trying not to wake up the other cats.Nope! I hope to keep it alive too!![]()
Brackenfur padded into camp, and heard the steady breathing of sleeping cats. He sat under a fern bush and nibbled at his catch. Sootfur was still laying in the medicine cats den (sorry forgot the name). He thought he would go and see her again. He picked himself up, and loped silently into the den. Sootfur's blood stained body laid in the same position as before, and her sides heaved up and down. Brackenfur stepped closer and laid down beside her body. His warmth reached Sootfur, and she opened her eyes. A familier scent reached her nose. "Brackenfur?" she rasped. Brackenfur jerked his head up. He nudged her gently, and licked her cheek. Sootfur closed her eyes, a rumbling purr erupted from her throat. Her tail twitched. "Brackenfur? Is Mintpaw okay?" her voice thick with worry. "Yes, yes. Don't worry." Sootfur sighed. "Can you.... can you get her for me?" Brackenfur smiled. "Of course." he licked her cheek again, then padded out of the den.
