Cliffkit sat down with a little sigh. how could she prove she would be the best warrior ever? she imagined herself going out into the deep, unknown grasses beyond camp. maybe before she came back she would catch a rabbit. that was it! she would prove she was ready to be an apprentice now by catching a rabbit. excited by the idea, she stood up and trotted out of camp.

Bramblekit pounced on her tail.

with a quiet squeak brambleclaw leapt on top of her.

Stonekit padded over. "hey guys did you see where Cliffkit went?" he asked.

Cliffkit gazed around with wide eyes. seemingly endless grass streached before her. she padded along, stopping to inhale the fresh smell of the meadow. then, the scent of rabbit drifted by. she dropped to a hunter's crouch. a rabbit hopped by, and Cliffkit leapt at it. it was a large rabbit, about the same size as Cliffkit.

WinterKit squirmed under him. "Nuh uh." She answered
