wart? infection?

I've asked Doc Brown a question a while ago and he is very knowledgeable. This is just my opinion but I wonder if the hard piece in her ear really was a chick crumble. fishman65 said that it looked like a crumble. The ear got irritated and is now infected. Just like a kid sticking something in his/her ear and then getting an earache and swelling. The foreign object has to come out and then medication to get the swelling down. I'm not saying to put her on any medication it's more of a what if.

No change today. did not get bigger overnight. It almost covers her entire ear.

She has an ear infection. Someone else posted quite some time ago about the same issue, only FAR more severe, in a rescue hen she was caring for. Pictures were posted of that one.

Do a search here for 'ear infection'.

I'm hoping you can head this off before it gets too much worse. I don't claim to be a chicken A & P professor, but I would think it possible when you broke the 'knot', it may have been her ear drum or something of the like.

Others have suggested Dr. Brown, and I'll echo that suggestion here.
