I thought heat made them grow?
They were very prone to predation.

These look like they're the rare marshochickens! They appear most often on easter, and tend to appear and disappear very quickly.

Well, they don't have the right appearance for any pure breed I can think of, so I agree they are probably some kind of Easter Egger. I wonder what color eggs they would lay if they had lived to grow up?
