I am a new chicken owner and I got 4 chicks from a pullet bin, 2 easter Eggers and 2 barred rocks. I'm pretty sure my orange EE is a pullet but my other one is sure acting pretty roostery. Specks was small at first but quickly became the biggest, is the alpha and developed a 3 row red comb pretty early on.
My 2 barred rocks both look like pullets to me but they have different looking taifeathers. My neighbors may not appreciate it if I have a rooster but I love my babies! LoL They are 9 weeks old. I would love to hear ur opinions!

Yup, the black and white EE is a cockerel.

That little fast stinker! LoL I wonder how loud these guys get. He is still really sweet to me and eats out of my hand still, but I know he doesn't have all his hormones yet!
I don’t know how loud yours will get, but a RIR Roo I had years ago tried to wake the whole neighborhood! It was a good thing I kept the neighbors supplied with eggs, otherwise I’d have been in trouble. Everything was great with him until he flogged our 3 year old daughter. Made some tasty chicken and dumplings . . . . :D
I know, that was awful.

It's all good. You do you.

They are all lovely, except for the EE - he is handsome, indeed! Aren’t they fun to watch?
I actually have a RIR that is ”supposed” to be a pullet, and looks like a cockerel. BUT, he/she won’t stop moving long enough for me to take a clear picture! :barnie
