Was watching "Unwrapped" on food network

They were running a Easter special.

They showed where eggs come from.
They showed a commercial egg farm, the guy was like this house has over 99,000 hens in it right now. All I could think was poor girls. tiny cages, food constantly in front of them on a conveyor belt, standing on a slope so the eggs roll out from under them. No human contact other than when they cull them.

I'm sure hoping that with the increase in the # of small backyard flocks that there will be less demand for factory farms.
Seeing how the chickens are caged and treated in them breaks my heart.
