Washers + Screws vs. Poultry Staples: Corrosion Issues?

So, the little birdies are starting to get their feathers and are eager to fly their brooder. Time to finish the run. I have researched the washers and screws vs. poultry staples debate, and it is clear that the washer and screws method is stronger and easier to install when working with hardware cloth.

HOWEVER, I can not find hot-dipped galvanized fender washers anywhere local to me. Only zinc-plated (aka electrogalvanized). Zinc plating, I have read, will rust in short order if exposed to the elements.

How have you all solved this problem?
