I have chickens that's ages range to nearly 2 months -1month and I wanted to know how little they had to be to give them a bath I wanted to today but instead I gave them a foot bath and I wasn't sure because I know if u wash them to little they will die and I though maybe if it was when they get there primary or first good feathers in.

why would you want to wash chickens? am I missing something? I live on a farm, so maybe its different in the city...

Chickens do NOT get washed. They will give themselves dust baths and such but I have never in my life heard of anyone giving their chicken a "bath". You might clean up a chicken that was sick or something on a rare occasion but not like you would a dog.

Chicks and chickens take baths, in the dirt... Only time I've washed a chick more than just a touch up with a cotton ball when they get yogurt or something smeared on their head or back is when one chick got doused with poop from a gosling. It literally hosed the poor thing down. My chicks and chickens seem to prefer shavings for whatever reason, and roll around in my woodchip pile.

They will die if you bathe them and they get to cold while drying?

I have read lots of posts on here of people bathing their birds, whether it be for show or dirty butts or whatever. Most of the chickens actually seem to like the warm water and they also relax under the blow dryer after wards. You wouldn't want to put them back outside until they are COMPLETELY dry though. I've also read of chickens relaxing and even sitting in the warm water even when the goal was just a foot or leg soak for some injury or ailment.
