Yeah I've been boosting their protein with BOSS, oats, and a tiny bit of scratch. Need to be more consistent with ACV in their water, but mostly I fill their water outside and I don't keep the ACV out there so it's more work to go up to the kitchen to get it each time :P Yup I'm lazy. I will do the vitamins and electrolytes while I worm them though, good idea.

i think i'm going crazy... I just realized half my garden this year is going to be food for my chickens. I've lost my mind. I have starchy type corn that tastes so gross. It's the type chicken feed is made from. Then black sunflowers. Ohwell, Maybe it will save me some money on feed

Then boss 2-3 times a week, and I found the like warm oatmeal, nothing fancy, just oats n hot water, and scr eggs on the day I worm them..... After the one died I wasn't taking any chances... Lol....and of course they get scraps :-)

Cyber bullying does exist. Children have committed suicide over it. Name-calling IS considered bullying. It is the name-calling that I am offended by and would not want my children to accidentally read on a board that I frequent. Let's see - today we were called Nazi's and someone was called a "helicopter mom" which is a real, and negative, term in the school system. A helicopter mom is a mom who gets overly involved with their children and impedes a teacher's ability to teach. Teachers can't stand them. When you volunteer, you become privy to the "inside" gossip. Today I was called "sensitive" which I fully accept as truth.

I'm glad I have had the pleasure of meeting many of you here. You know how to reach me.

There are plenty more. Just Google "name calling", "bullying" and "cyber bully"

Internet bullying is a real thing. It's not as simple as you can go to another place. In school now all kids have cellphones with cameras. they take pictures of someone they don't like putting nasty messages with it all over facebook and other social pages. It's horrible and has led to some teenagers even trying to kill themselves over it.
It's also illegal in our state.

As for helicopter parenting... I was told I'm a helicopter aunt. I over protect my niece apparently. I had her til she was 7 years old and then her parents decided they wanted her back. I had no legal rights (as the police informed me when i refused to let her go). I felt like they were taking my baby away. They dropped her off with me when she was a year old then didn't take her back til she was 7. It wasn't fair to me or her.
I get her this coming holiday weekend. I'm so excited to get to see her. I even put decorations on her bedroom wall, a new curtain, and some pink x-mas lights up around her bed frame.
Just gotta chime in. Sometimes these days we do get sensitive when we see things or hear things we don't feel are right. Speaking up for what you believe in or for someone that can't speak for themselves is the way more people should be. But on that same note we also need to keep things in perspective and hopefully not take things out of context. We can't see someones face or hear the context of their voice on line so we should give them the benefit of the doubt until they prove they don't deserve it. I haven't had the pleasure to meet you Sweetlilbaby hopefully I'll get a chance you seem like a real sweet person. Having been through with my brothers kids what you went through with your niece just know you were there when she needed you then, and she knows that that she has someone that will be there for her forever and always! Sometimes the parents are the best thing for kids.

To my Buddy Mike we've always had Bullies, back in the day the best way to stop a bully as to punch him in the mouth usually when he got up he wasn't a bully anymore! Internet bullying has no face, kids today can be relentless without a threat of that punch in the mouth. Back in the day we got home from school we'd run the neighborhood and socialize with our buddies. Today's kids live there lives through social media and when they are bullied from afar it takes their perceived life away as they know it. Unfortunately some kids don't have the social skills today to get past this and go outside and run around the neighborhood with their buddies.
Man I hate when I get on a ramble sorry eveybody!

PC running amuck once again.
TC made a statement that was based on her experience.
I felt same way as her.
Some times you just got to let nature take it's course.
One could actually be doing more harm then good checking on her all the time.
That is the choice Jessica made which is her decision.
TC was just commenting on how she does it.
Both parties communicated.

It's a shame someone can't come on here using a term that describes what TC felt was going on and because someone else had an experience with that term in a negative way TC or anyone else shouldn't use that word?

I disagree with that.

My bet is there are many many descriptive statements made all the time on here and thousands of other forums where some of us had a bad experience with a certain descriptive statement.

Yet, when we can't talk to each other based on our experiences afraid someone else might have had a bad experience with the same statement made it becomes a sad state to live in.
I AGREE! LETS TALK CHICKEN

So the parents are at fault here. They buy the phones. No phones, no pics. Oh heck, why not just force the manufactures to make phones that can't take a pic.
Look, I understand about name calling and now in the new era pics and posting on social networks. If you don't go there, how do you know?
Really, this is a problem of parenting and yes it is a simple solution.

I agree it is a parenting issue. And they make phones without cameras. In highschool my mom wouldn't allow me to have a phone with a camera on it because she didn't want me to have the ability to take pictures she couldn't see. I also didn't have a computer in my bedroom, she was over my shoulder the whole time. Some call that over protective. I would never be a bully, but she made sure of that as well.

I have noticed in my own neighborhood the lack of parenting. Just earlier today I caught kids at my fence throwing rocks into my yard at my chickens. Parenting issue, their parents shrugged when I was pounding on their door and telling them what their kids were up to. The great thing is even though they didn't care when I called the police they did care!
To get to my fence they have to climb into my flower bed that is 6ft straight up of brick, then climb onto my 6ft tall board fence. Seemed like a lot of hard work to do something stupid. Maybe i'm just lazy but I wont even climb up there to weed around my flowers.
