Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Partridge? I had a bird very similar to that. I actually bought her as a partridge. If that is, that is a very, very poor marked partridge... Here's a pic of my poor marked partridge Wyandotte. She surprising did pretty well at the PNPA show with a BB and a 1st.

okay, the men are all happy now that they have full bellies. I had some grass fed burger in the frig, and was considering making spaghetti or taco salad, when I was suddenly inspired to make sloppy joes. My DH is always amazed that I can cook without those little seasoning packets

So, here was my version of gluten free, dairy free, corn free, soy free, sugar free, preservative free sloppy joes with the least effort side dishes I could come up with. I'm feeling like I'm coming down with the virus my son had last week and my DH has this week. If so, they can consider this THE LAST SUPPER for a few days

You can't post something so yummy without giving the recipe.

I believe it was yesterday I was complaining about the website i ordered a kennel from not shipping it out. Today I called them and told them ship it by tomorrow or refund me the money. That was just a few hours ago. I got the e-mail it's been shipped I should get it in a few days YAY!! It's a good thing too it's muscovy mating season and my drake is HUGE and i have some mini chickens (cochin mix's) Good thing is the top hen is large and she protects the smaller ones from him. He'd crush a small chicken. Hoping i get that here by this friday so i can have the ducks in their own space.

Hey, do any of you have Polish chickens? If so What is their laying like and what size eggs do they lay. I know they are more ornamental and have been thinking about getting two or three just cause they are cute and then I got on Ebay......I want these hatching eggs....

How awesome is that first Roo?!?!?!
What do you guys think?
I was looking at that earlier. Was thinking about getting some cause i love the fro. So cute. but I don't know anything about the breed. It's why I haven't tried ordering any of those. I'm scared that they'd fly out of my yard when free ranging.

no official recipe, but ........saute 1 chopped large onion and 1.5 lbs hamburger in some grapeseed oil, (it was 9% lean, needed oil) add 2 cans tomato paste, some apple cider or coconut vinegar, some organic unsulphered molasses, a tsp or so of cumin, a couple spoons of crushed garlic, a tblsp of chili powder- or more, some red pepper flakes, tsp or so smoked paprika, simmer till bubbly and hot, keep checking for flavor- should be spicy, slightly sweet and just a tad tart. Makes enough for an army- or one 15 yr old with a hollow leg. BTW- I made enough so that I could freeze some, but Mr hollow leg is eating me out of house and home. I have one teenager for rent- anyone interested? (warning- allergic to gluten, dairy, corn & corn syrup, soy, nitrites/nitrates, food colors, food dyes, artificial flavorants, petroleum based additives, bananas, raw apples, and some days- baths!)

I thought about getting a couple polish for the same reasons- they are hilarius looking. I think I read that they get picked on by larger breeds or something? The white-topped black ones are fun looking too. The remind me of "who's" in WHO-ville......
