Will Lucy let me know somehow that she wants to start taking the babies out of the hutch? If not, when should I open up the ramp so they have access to the run?

I am kind of hoping for that. It gets a little dangerous when I duck in the car because a giant flock of birds are flying over head![]()
I get all panicky and my heart rate goes way up, I have to get over it if I want a farm in the country! I might not last long otherwise...
Even though this is just a picture it made me jump. I'm allergic to bees. Was in the hospital a few years ago because of 2 bee stings. My current doctor wants to wait and SEE the reaction instead of giving me the thingy to give myself a shot if i get stung and have a bad reaction again. thankfully last summer my chickens hung out close to me when i'd lay in the yard reading a book They'd go after any bees that came close to me.
I am a nurse. If you had that bad of a reaction last time, the next time you will not make it until the paramedics get there. What happens if you are out in the yard and no one is around when you get stung? I would INSIST that they give you an Epipen. If your present doctor won't give you one, ask for a new doctor. Clearly this one doesn't have a clue how dangerous a bee sting allergy is. This IS a matter of life and death so take care of it ASAP.
I wish I could do emoticons on my iPad. There would be a bunch of them right now.

Quote: I would NOT be returning to that Dr. Last summer I thought I was starting to have some reactions so I mentioned it to my Dr. He didn't even hesitate to write me up for Epipen. But he is also a fellow beekeeper. I am not sure what would kill a person first the bee sting or the shock of the price of Epipen. $240. for 2

Houdini comes to mind, rats this has already been suggested. Dillinger also comes to mind though.Tonight, when I went out to tuck my chicks in, I opened the brooder door just so they continue to get used to me - and found out one of the cockerels is a little escape artist! I happened to have my phone on me so I took some pics. At one point he even turned my Hope against me! Nothing funnier than a chick trying to decide to jump.

Name suggestions are appreciated. I'm thinking something like "Escape," but better, because Escape isn't something you yell to call your chicks to you...![]()

I would wait until this weekend, that way it'll give the new chicks you add a couple of days with her in closed quarters. I don't let mine out for the first week. Will Lucy let me know somehow that she wants to start taking the babies out of the hutch? If not, when should I open up the ramp so they have access to the run?
