Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Pale gums is an emergency (shock) I would not delay getting him to the vet if I were you. Don't try to make him eat, he may need surgery. I would certainly not feed a Dane gravy or other carbohydrates under any circumstances, the risk of bloat/torsion is too great with Danes. Good luck to your boy.

Hope your dane is okay. But do not feed gravy. Gravy is so high in fat it can actually lead to liver failure over time. Try making some chicken broth or beef broth. All you need is some chicken bones (what is left after you eat a baked chicken) simmer that for a few hours then take the bones out and toss them, what you are left with is completely safe to give to your dog.
you can also opt to add meat into that and feed a home cooked diet to your dog for a few days til he's feeling better.

also weird things to ask but how is your dogs poop? When a dog is getting sick or acting strange it's time to start checking out their poop. If they are pooping. If your dog hasn't gone in a few days go to the vet it means there is a blockage which can cause pale gums and not wanting to eat.

Today, I found out that Greenfire allows visitors! I'll be visiting my father in Florida either at the very end of April or early May. The airport I'll be flying into is in the same city (Talahassee)! I'm SO going there.

On that note, please tell me that there aren't any meet-up plans around those times!

Saturday Adventure # 2:

So, then comes the shed. This is a 75 year old shed, made from old growth wood and built with tongue and groove 2" flooring. The sides are made from 2" x 6" studs- and they are actually 2x6, not 1 3/4 x 3.5". Not your average shed! When we went to look at it and survey how to move it, we knew it was bound to be tricky, and wow, that was an understatement!
It's 8x10, and the peak is just over 10 foot tall. We moved it from a house over on the water in Federal Way to our place- but it took about 5 hours to get it here. It was bulit on 6x6 skids, but one was rotten and damaged and rather than run home and get new skids and jacks and all the stuff to make the repaurs, we had ourselves a little adventure.
Here's some pictures:

and here was are- set down on the concrete pad at our place- ready to get new timber under it, and a new roof- and work for us for years to come.

Where in Federal Way. I used to live in Marine Hills.

Waiting for someone to come out and play.

That is so adorable. The little pipped egg you posted last night is my favorite part of the hatch. So exciting to see that little pip.

I'm trying to talk DH into letting me get one of those incubators, but he doesn't want chicks brooded in the house. I told him I will just hatch when a broody is sitting.

If you look close - the chick has her head on top of another pip. :) She's waiting for her PRIR buddy to zip.

I bought a beta fish yesterday that is now slated to go into my 10-gallon tank in hopes to curb my thoughts of brooding chicks in it any more. LOL. Poor beta is stuck in a bowl until these chicks get delivered to ChickAudie though.
