Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

$2.50 - $3.00 a dozen. I need to raise the price a little since prices have been going up. These cartons ran me $.46 each, but the guys try and take care of the cartons and return them, so they do get reused. I just wanted something different this time. Will take me over a year to go through these most likely.

if i can find the link i'll share it. On facebook there is a contest to win 50 of those blue egg cartons.

Hope everyone got to enjoy a lovely dry day outside! I think I overdid it a bit out gardening, but I enjoyed every minute of it! Tomorrow might be a different story though! I weeded the Peony bed, and they are all starting to come up! Planted two rhubarb plants and started a huge job of transplanting my 5 yr old asparagus bed. We just put them in the wrong place and need to move them. Little did I realize how difficult that would be! I moved 2 plants and called it a day. Think I have 6 more to go and then I bought a dozen new ones as well that I need to get in. And desperately need to weed and mulch the strawberry bed, prune everything and start seeds! ACK! Never enough time in the day! I did check today though on when the clocks change for daylight savings time, and its not next weekend but the following one. Yippeeeeeeee!

Just a quick update on my DH since so many of you sent him well wishes when he hurt his back. After an MRI and x-rays, he has 2 ruptured disks. Despite that, he still had to travel for work this week and is in Fargo. Next week he starts PT and he will have an Epidural Steroid Injection on Wednesday.

Sweetlilbaby: So sorry to hear about your doggy. We lost our yellow lab, Abby Rose, one year ago this week. It's so hard to lose such a good friend!

CR: So sorry your machine broke!!! That's a bummer!

CL: Congrats on the great progress on your house!!! That's so exciting!

Love seeing all the chick pictures!!! I am awaiting the arrival of my first shipped eggs as we speak! I went ahead and traded for some BBS Ameraucana eggs since we lost our rooster this winter, and everybody I've spoken too that I know has them, is also looking for a rooster! And I'm also getting a few of the Silkied Ameraucana eggs and I'm sooooooooooooooo excited about those! So I'm hoping to put them in the bator on Thursday before I head off to a scrapbooking retreat this weekend. Will also be putting in some of our Splash Marans, bantam Salmon Faverolles, Olive Eggers and Seramas to check for fertility.

You have been busy! Thanks for the update on your DH. I know that back pain can be particularly debilitating. Very difficult to move without utilizing your back!

What fun eggs you're putting in the incubator. And oh boy - I did not know until you posted that there was such a thing as "silkied Ameraucanas" so I had to google them. Jeepers, can those babies be any cuter? Little muffs and beards on silkie feathered bodies? Ouch. Adorable.

Great. Now I'm thinking about bantam Faverolles too. You guys are all bad influences. It's like being in a candy store with the best candy up to the ceiling on every wall with all the posts about hatching, and photos of unbearably fluffy chicks.

Anyone see this video? SO great that this young man stood up for himself against police officers who harassed him for openly carrying his gun, legally. Great video!

Good for him. But notice he was always respectful and reasonable AND he could quote the law and case laws.

The LEO was also respectful and trying to do his job as he saw it. But once he was challenged by the citizen he should have acknowleged the citizen's right to carry openly and then his notes should have noted all the obvious. Time of day, description, clothes worn and any identification marks that he observed and full description of weapon.
Was he wrong to make the stop. Yep.

Sure thing. They are a denim color. I do like it. Egg top right on bottom picture is blue. Doesn't look like it here.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm you are right about your eggs looking "off color" with the blue carton, but you know there is nothing wrong with having EVERY color of egg in the world in your carton...right ?
I kinda like it !

I want to brag a bit about my 75 yr old sister. She is into Cowboy Action Shooting and just won 3rd place in the Nationals for her age group of 65 and over last weekend. She also won last month 1st place in her group in the New Mexico State Championship. I know many of us females on this board are gun advocates. Have you ever thought about getting into this fun sport?

This is not my sister but gives you an idea what the sport is.

Well this stinks. One of our local Tacoma drivers got sick on his route today and did not deliver 5 stores. So tonight when me and the other shuttle driver get to Lakewood, we get to load the product into a couple of trailers and we each get to go deliver them. I get 3 of the stores in downtown Seattle area. Yay. So my normal 6-7 hr run will likely turn into near 10+. Oh well, job security I guess

those are really nice looking! I'd go broke buying egg cartons, but we do make labels we put on recycled egg cartons for my son's "business'.

This video is awesome.........seems made by the Lilly Langtry Ranch ?
Lake County CA...we have been there many times, they also have a fantastic border collie/cattle dog round up in spring, and also make great wine.
Not far from our property down there...and home of my pal "Cowboy Bob" (an artist friend) who has worked the ranch with owners, who are descendants of shotgun creators here in the USA.
My personal love is the model Win 94..........I have a nice one and my Dad has a really old one...classic carbine
