We ordered the 2 shower stalls, and the R-38 insulation that goes in the gambrel trusses, due by the end of this week and then it will be alot of packing heavy stuff up the stairs................

Quote: I honestly am not sure what type of guns they are. A friend of mine brought them. I'm pretty sure the 9mm was an S&W. I don't know about the 40, but I preferred it over the 9mm only because I felt like I had more control over it. The kick was about the same, but the 9mm had a shorter grip that just left me feeling like I could drop it with the kick behind it. I didn't get any pics of my other rounds but I definitely did better than the guys, well except the military guys two lanes over. lol... I liked the number target where you hit the numbers and the small black circles. I was proud to say I hit the target in pretty tight groupings every time, once I got the hang of the gun. It was so much fun!

S/he's looking up at me! Melted my heart! And it chirped back when I chirped at them. SO CUTE!!!

Congrats on doing so well your first time out shooting. I'm looking forward to meeting with our firearms expert next month to learn how to just hold a gun properly for the play I'm currently in rehearsals for. Then I may take up my friend on an offer to go out and do some work shooting with him.
I have no idea how it's going to feel or how well I'll do!

Your chicks are adorable - you guys are killing me with chicks pics. My hatching jones is starting up something awful.
I think there is something very special about your first chicks hatched inside. With my very first hatch, one of my baby girls came out nearly a full 24 hours before everyone else. It was just her and me, gazing at each other for nearly an entire day and IMO, there was some imprinting going on. Even now two years later, Juju is the one who will hop up 10 stairs to my back kitchen door and stand there until I notice her through the glass to come out and give her treats. And when I do, she prefers to take them from my hand rather than off the ground like everybody else. She will wait until I hold my hand out to her.
She is my sweet little mutt girl.

I want to pull my hair out. Got info back from the vet on demons blood testing and x-rays. His heart is enlarged, they said it means that was NOT his first heart attack. His blood came back with stuff i didn't really understand as i was crying after being told about his heart. I feel like I failed him by not seeing that he had heart attacks in the past.

His gums are white but the vet suggested keeping him in his normal routine because going to the vets office will stress him. And to let him live out his natural life unless he shows signs of pain.
So basically I have to some how deal with knowing that I am watching my dog die. I hope demon lives for another year. I want to make the last of his life the best that I can. He's already spoiled with a prey model raw diet. Not sure what else to do to spoil him.

Sorry...

It's hard news to hear. I would do the same as you. Do everything I could to make our time left together as happy and comfortable as possible and spoil him with all the loves and scritches he can handle.

OK just a quick flyby. I am way behind so may have missed things. Just a quick heads up to those wanting "no mess" chicks at Monroe. I may not have much selection. See I may now be done with metal art. My plasma cutter died over the weekend. I bought some rather pricey parts that were supposed to fix it. Nope it is still not working. I am going to disassemble and look for other problems but IF I find none I will be done. Out of the metal art. See I can't buy a new machine.

That's a dilemma CR. You do such nice work. I'm curious how much a new plasma cutter costs?

So it seems that the reputation Silkies have for going broody is true - imagine! My Pearlie June just shook herself from her broody spell and now Priscilla, our porcelain girl is sitting firmly in the corner, flattened out like a pretty feather duster. I pet her and she just purrs and raises her fluffy tail in a somewhat feline fashion.

She is currently in a coop with 2 other silkies. If I got Priscilla some eggs to hatch and raise, does anyone have any idea how the other Silkies would behave around new chicks? I don't currently have a broody pen.

I'm wondering if anyone within a few miles would have a a few to a half dozen hatching eggs they'd be willing to sell or part with? I don't want any shipped - I'd rather pick them up. She's a bantam so I wouldn't need many. I don't plan on keeping any new chicks right now. Just thinking out loud...

It is too cold to stay outside for long !!!!!!!!!!!
So I tossed unthrashed wheat straw to my JGs...as their immediate run was sloppy snotty slippery clay mud!
Now, they are having a hay day eating all the seeds !
So I snapped some pics...the black cockerel & pullet will be in the show unless something unforeseen comes up...he is gorgeous !
HUGE and just a baby, really.
And so sweet & gentle.
He is a full Maria Hall Black Jersey Giant.

These are Blue, Black & Splash Jersey Giants.
These are brothers & sisters of Mikey's Blue Roo.
