I am sorry to hear about your Rooster. Hope you figure it out soon and that it was not passed on.

Bothell Feed Center called me today and said that they had a chick with a problem and wanted to know if I would be willing to give it a chance and that they would give me a nother chick to go with to keep her company.
Here are two chicks I just picked up for free from Bothell Feed Center. The yellow one is a Delaware that has cross beak an something wrong with her right eye.

This is Chance!

This is Sushi. (not sure why I came up with that I thought it was cute.)

Oh, Hi baby chickies!! Poor Chance, is there a way to brace his beak so that it closes properly? Baby chicken head gear?
No, it just has to be maintained by keeping it trimmed down. I had a Silkie with this problem before and she lived a few months here and then I had a customer come by that fell in love with her and bought her form me. But I have never seen one this bad this young, and it normally just gets worse as they get older.

I hope wilco will still be doing the free chicks with a bag of feed next week. I'm thinking of going and getting a bag of the non medicated flock grower. Might as well get free chicks if i can. But i have to wait for my card to come in the mail to get discounts. :) signed up for their discount club. I'm not that far from there. I live in North tacoma. Gig harbor is really close.

Anyone shop there regularly? Are the workers there nice/friendly?

This is what I use for my chickens. http://www.behlencountry.com/index.aspx?ascxid=behlenCatalogProduct&i=138 You can put two together and go 20 feet ok without extra support. Coastal sells the panels separately so you can buy whatever you need for the size you're doing. We did a kit from Lowes for the old pen, and that was a pain to run the fencing around and it ran me $400. These were cheaper for 4 of them and ran less than that. They are also much sturdier.

We need to rehome two WC Black Polish Roosters. Cant keep up with the high maint. of the polish, and are going another direction. They are free to a good home. Can deliever closer to I-5. We are in Grays Harbor. One of them is pictured in my avitar. They are a little over a year. Got the mother from a local breeder, father came from the feed store.

That is normally what I get. But the last kennel i bought i got the DIY chain link kennel kit because it was cheaper. But i have to tell you 7 hours putting it together NOT worth the savings. And it was a weekend of Horrible pain from putting it together.

Do you know how much do the panels cost each? Do they have panels with a gate in them?

Unfortunately, I can't get anything that big in my car. How much are the panels?

I got my chicks from them a couple weeks ago. They were nice enough, nothing notable. I didn't really think they had the greatest options for feed. Two brands I believe it was.... And I'm a dork, so I bought two feeders. Wish the check out lady would have noticed, but that was my fault, lol!

Oh, ok. I hope Chance grows up to be a big happy chicken!
