Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I am SO excited! I get to go see Cowgirl Grace tomorrow!!!

Hopefully I'll be coming home with an Ameraucana pullet or maybe 3 chicks!!!!

I know... I said I didn't want chicks... but you guys are killin' me with all these pictures! You are enablers!
But if I do come home with chicks.... I need a light. I need suggestions on how to do that for a low price, if that's even possible. I think I have everything else I need, and I can stop at the feed store on the way home for chick feed. Medicated, right?

I can hardly wait to see her flock and The Tunnel!!!

Newbie Question.... would it be okay to use a heating pad under the floor on one end of the brooder to provide the heat they need, instead of a red light? I'm going to use a large plastic tub for the first week or so and keep it in my laundry room.

Thanks.
Good to here you could make it out. DD and I have some stuff to pick up in Tacoma this afternoon the we are going to jump over the bridge and pick up a few also. Let's just hope it's only a few our Tucker my have company in his dog house!

Hi robj... we're scheduled to be out there at 1:00. Do you know when you'll be there? It would be nice to meet you and your little girl.
Are you planning to get chicks or grown pullets?

Anybody interested in a bantam silver laced wyandotte. She has a slightly misaligned beak; it won't cause her any problems. I was just getting ready to use her for a breeding project, but won't now. She's not hatchery stock.

PM me, I can bring to Monroe.

YOUR EXPERIENCE PLEASE.....

Assuming I get a laying pullet who hasn't been handled much or treated like a pet.... is it possible to tame her so that she will become pet-like so she's easy to pick up and handle? Has anyone done that? How would I go about it? What do you think my chance of success would be????

I got show bantam Wyandottes... They were unhandled and they flip when you hold them. I'm also looking for a way for them to let me hold them.

One of the hens knows I'm the treat giver, but were still working on the whole trust/respect thing. Especially with Nebula. Last night before his bath when we went to catch him he scratched us a good couple times but once he was in our hands he was fine.
