Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

If he'd got you to pay for YOUR own gift, he would have made the husband's Hall of Fame.

And I would have been a great fool. LOL.

I haven't been to this thread in a long time and see there are several new members that live in my neck of the woods. If it hasn't been posted yet, there is a Washington Feather Fanciers Show at the Evergreen Fairgrounds in Monroe on the 16th. I'll have my four breeds there.

Also, should anyone be interested, I've started my Waiting List for chicks/eggs. I've got the incubator running but laying is sparse right now. I'll be hatching the first 2-4 dozen for myself and then filling orders. I've also still got a few older Buckeyes and Welsummers that can go anytime as I won't be breeding them.

Best way to contact me is email or phone as I'm not getting to BYC that often.

God Bless,

They are soooo cute, love them!

I hope someone is still up to answer this....

I have been watching the chicks like a crazy hawk to make sure these babies are safe. And they really seem to be doing fine. I wonder if I can leave them overnight? They seem to be fine with where the light is and there is a cuddle puddle in the middle, and ee sleeping on the perch and one past out by her food. I'm not goin to lie, I have five pretty darn healthy kids and I rarely check temperatures of anything. I figure common sense would apply with chickens, if they're shivering, they are too cold, far away from the heat source, they're probably too warm, so I'm thinking they may just be ok?

I usually have the lamp on one end so they can get away to a cool side. The lamp was secured in three spots, so I wasn't worried about it falling. I never worried about the chicks. Did whatever I needed to do.

I just had to make sure that the waterer was up on a bit of paver so it was raised a bit and on a flat surface. My chicks always kicked litter into the water, no matter the type of bedding.

Thanks. I love gardens and gardening and photography and painting and.... What is funny one of my many jobs in life I worked for Weyerhaeuser down in Concord, California. weyerhaeuser flood insurance. I was one of the ones who decided when you got a loan if you where in a flood zone and had to buy flood insurance. It will add extra meaning to me.

Anybody on here ever start Rhodys? I would love to cover my property with them. So pretty. If anyone is giving away any plants think of me. Property looks like yuck after being a rental for 30 yrs. I used to not be able to see anyone but people have hacked away at the trees and stuff for years and now I look down into my neighbors house and into my other neighbors back yard. Need sight blocker bad.

Don't forget if you pre ordered like I did today is the day to pick them up.
If you want to buy some go before the afternoon because we went last year and the selection wasn't great at all by the afternoon it is a very popular sale.

This year I pre ordered so be going this morning.

And yes, you'll be driving right next to Monroe Farm & Feeds to get there.
Just pointing that out.
Chirp Chirp. LOL!

Quote: Thank you. She was a sweet lil baby while she was here. Fell asleep in my hand (as they do) and when I put her on the floor she would run over to Jazz (Great Dane) and cuddle up under his neck to sleep.
Quote: This is one of the things I was going to quote yesterday.

CR, I am so glad that you are getting that fixed.

Well today is DH's 32nd Birthday. I was going to make him a whole bunch of (what we call fat man food
gig.gif
) treats, like a cake, elephant ears and cookies but he has decided to try and lose weight now. He has been going up into the barn to work out almost every night now and has been doing great. DH does not like anything done for him for his birthday, because he has always said that birthdays are all about me and the kids. I don't know he is weird, but we will be having a little "party" for him on Sunday because he has scheduled him self to work on a friends old 70's truck this weekend. DH has been restoring it for him.
