Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Okay, I need experts here . . . DH is building the coop with 6x6' size for the enclosed coop and then a 6 x 12 pen -- how many LF can this hold?
I think I have too many (20). They will all be large girls, RIR, BO, SalmFav, SLW, Dominiques, Polish, etc. Thanks.
Lynn

Well, if you stack them like firewood I think you can get a truck-load of LF in there. I can't tell for sure because you didnt tell us how tall the coop is.

This is ALL YOUR fault, you know you did it, don't even try to deny it!!

Aren't they absolutely ADORABLE?! We just brought them home from Cowgirl Grace's. they are wheaten ameraucanas, maybe blue wheaten, we'll see.

Oh, I am so happy for you. You will love it. Now you need to make a small movable coop for them outside so when they are too big for inside you can put them outside but not with your big girls yet. I am so jealous.

They are really cute, I have to get me some more! Just one thought though, I was under the impression that true Ameraucanas have slate coloured legs, and it looks like the one at left has pink/orange legs?
Wheaten take a bit for the legs to color in.

I would have at least a 10' x 8' base if they are kept in the coop. Better more space then not enough. Another option would be two small coops sharing the same run or reducing the size of your flock. jmo

Hey guys! I'm just popping in and reading backward. The chicks are great! And I'm glad I didn't waste time for them to meet.

Jess, awesome tunic and may I say, you work so fast!

Sweetlilbaby, I know about the chicks!! I wanted one of the Iowa Blues they had at the feeder store (FYI- I did get nipples and might I add quite a bit pricier than online, but I may have saved $5 on shipping. They make their money back quick.). DH wouldn't allow it. I even waived the fact that we don't know all these chicks will be hens and that we used to live in Iowa and need IOWA BLUES!! (sad, whiney, cryey face :( )

Oh, well he keeps me from being a guest on Hoarders. We're going to put together the nipple waterers tomorrow, I'll let you know how it goes. Always a gamble with glass, but I bought a backup waterer anyway.

I don't know that i want something permanent. The shrubs I've put there will fill in eventually.

You could have our resident metal artist sculpt you some 7' tall chickens and stand them up together. That would block the view and add a whimsy to your yard. You don't have to water them either.
