Hi everyone... I thought I should let everyone know this. A couple weekends ago I went to a small 4-H poultry show. I was looking for birds to show this spring, and found a good trio of Wyandottes to start out with for $65. They all seemed fine and healthy at the show, and the person I purchased them from seemed kind and honest. I took them home and put them in their new coop under quartine away from my other birds. Well... On that Sunday I noticed one of the hens was acting off. She was just laying in the corner, eyes closed, but I thought she was just stressed from the move. The next few days her condition got worse and worse. Comb/wattles got paler, and all she did was sleep, eat a little here and there, and drink a few smalls sips of water. I separated her from the others. The others are totally fine, just her. I concluded this weekend that that person sold me a sick bird. She's hanging in there, but I don't think she's going to make it... But what really sickens me is this person sold me a sick bird. I noticed that when I brought her home that day, when she breathed if I was holding her, it rattled... But didn't think nothing of it. My purpose of this post is to inform you of this person. If you want their name, PM me, I'm not going to post it here. I still can't believe someone would do that, especially in OR/WA. Thank you.
