No, it was probably for the mother~ that's all they'll let you have sometimes when you're having a baby. No food and not much liquid, so they let you suck on ice.

OK, but last time he did not even look for any.............

The real name of the tree is the California Buckeye...it is a weird tree to say the least, and goes dormant in dry hot weather (smart tree !) and has big seeds early in spring.........

The trees I miss the most is the Madrona, I grew up in the Rouge Valley of OR and we had several of these on our property, they are so beautiful with their smooth red bark, not viable over here tho.

There is even a few cosp of Oak around Cabela's area of Olympia.

Two links on Madrona Trees here........looks like some are dying off, thousands dying in the San Juan islands due to this fungal infection...bummer !

I have seen them up that way too, but now we live in N east OR way to dry. I have started a small grove of Oaks tho.

California Buckeye? Wow, the Buckeye is the State Tree of Ohio where Birdie May was from.

I really, really want some now. I have only one tree on my property, a red maple that Birdie and I planted 16 years ago at a formier home we had and when we sold it, the people didn't want that stragley looking thing. (After we move in to our current place, I went back to the other house and dug it up, brought it to our new place and managed to get it planted b4 Birdie had a chance to look out side. It was quite a suprise for her.
It's now about 20' tall and shades my front windows in the summer. It was her pride and joy.
When mowing the grass, I always take my break under that tree, a special place for me.
