Yes, yes, - Jess is right-

Daiya cheese came out with "wedges" which are tubs of cheese recently. The Jack is delicious and could substitute for cream cheese. The Havarti is the softest cheese "wedge", but it has jalepenos in it. (or maybe you want jelepenos for your recipe- whatever you are making?)

You can buy it at Fred Meyer and I'm sure the Oly Co-op has it. I know Safeway has Daiya shreds. ALL of the flavors are very good. I have tried every single fake cheese on the market in the decade+ of our dairy free journey and it's the only one I'll eat- except the homemade cheese sauces made from soaked raw cashews.

I made mac & cheese with Daiya, grilled cheese sandwiches, cheese burgers, quesdillas, chile con queso dip, toss chreds on taco salads and in greek salads (still miss my goat cheese, but I'm over the pouting almost), cheese N crackers, etc.

OMG grilled cheese sandwiches?!?!?!? What do you use for bread? I've been craving one for a week now.

FYI: A fun thing I have been doing lately. I get 2 half gallons of Fat Free (or 2%) Lactose Free Milk, and put it in my crock pot (slow cooker) and heat to 100 degrees F, then add 1 container Chobani Honey Flavour Greek Yogurt.....or Unflavoured...........and whisk in well............and then turn off the heat & wrap the crock pot in a big thick towel. After 12 hours (or the next morning) I strain it through flour sack towel...dump the whey & store the thick yogurt in several containers in the fridge....add berries or whatever you like & save out a cup of the yogurt for your next batch. FAT FREE, 2%, LOW FAT or whole Milk will work, lactose free means no lactose !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unflavoured also works great for sour cream-type use.....on tacos or taters or whatever you would use sour cream for. Maybe fine for subsitutions for cream cheese as well ?

Did you accidentally eat something contaminated or cross-contaminated?
BTW- These days they have been messin with the corn so bad that it can wreak havoc on the gluten intolerant and celiacs....a LOT of my families that decided to put their kids on GFCF diet ran over and swapped everything to corn, then found it was even worse.....

Finally candled all my 10 hatching eggs I picked up a week ago. I have 2 BLRW under my broody Silkies and 4 Wheaten Ameraucanas in the incubator. Well, I'm disappointed that it appears NONE of the eggs under my broodys are developing. I couldn't see any veining at all. I don't know if I just got unlucky and picked all the non-fertile ones or if my first time broody girls are doing a less than stellar job and have let the eggs get cold for periods of time.

However, the Wheaten Ameraucanas are ALL growing!!!

But I still have two weeks before they're due to hatch. AGH. Too. Hard.To. Wait.

I want babies now, and while I'm wishing, I'm wishing for them all to be pullets.

I must learn to live more in the moment.

Hehehehe.... mine were done hatched when I got 'em from Lyn and they are 15 days old now! Ya shudda bought chicks SadieSue!!!

They are SO cute! And SO messy! I really wish we could tell their sex... how are you at sexing Wheaten Ameraucanas????

My daughter, Lisa, was raised on a Harley...................as I was PG~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LOL

I thought I missed this baby grand daughter so much I was almost cryin;......then I talked to Lisa on the phone this morning, she was DREARY, EXHAUSTED, just woke up from a cat nap...and I hear the baby SKA_REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEMIN in the background...and thought to myself......NAW, I'm good right here !!!!!!!!!!

I hate to say it, but sometimes distance is a good thing. I love babies, but not the SKA_REEEEEEMIN! Get SKYPE or Facetime for now.
