Had a great time meeting new peeps and seeing old friends at the show today. I am sorry if I missed anyone.
The food was AWSOME! Great job everyone! And I want to thank you all for feeding the judges and a couple of the guys running the show too. I invited them to be nice, and to ensure that they never say no to us when we want to do this next year!

I know they loved the food and appreciated being fed.
They also said that we were a great group and think it's great that we plan things like this. Way to represent BYC and the WA thread!

My Faverolles got BV and BB today, but she was the only one there. Lol! But I had a "future" judge take a gander at my pullet and he said she is a very nice bird. So I was happy.
My little Silkie got first place as a blue hen, but no BV, RV, BB, or RB. Her color is too dark. Oh well, at least I got to show some birds and neither of them were DQ'd. It was a good day.

Hope some of you are coming to Vancouver in April.

What is BV, RV, BB, RB stand for? How is the judging done? I saw a number of birds being judget but know next to nothing about what they are judging.

Hi Guys

. Had a great time today at the show... Sorry to those I didnt get to chat with... my kiddos were so excited they were pulling me in all different directions trying to pick out which type of chickens they NEEDED to get. LOL..... Natalie wanted to thank Hallerlake, VF and CL for her eggs. We set them in the bator tonight. She cant wait to candle them on day 7. On a sad note I came home to find my very first chicken Henny Penny dead in the middle of the yard. ( she would have been 2 next month. She was my best layer. Not sure what happened. She was at the door this morning getting petted and getting her share of the scratch. So I'm at a loss for what happened.

So sad to lose your first girl. Hugs you and your kids.

I also want it known that I'm sorry that the GF muffins weren't very exciting. I'll try something better next time!

what?!! There were GF muffins? Were the blueberry ones GF? I passed on most everything because I wasn;t sure if if contained gluten, dairy, soy, corn, etc.
I would have had a muffin if I knew they were GF!

It's snowing and sticking here.

we came home to black clouds over our area today and saw that we'd had a big hail storm while we were at the Monroe show.
No snow, thank goodness!

Had fun at the show today. Is it odd that it was a date thing with my loving fiance? Lol and he got off lucky one serama chick and 4 gorgous ameracauna eggs that are snug as a bug in the bator he loves me

Man, you guys had too much fun. Next year I get to play.

I am going tomorrow out to Sacramento and pick up some silkie and sizzle chicks and a cream legbar pair of chicks. I can't wait! Went to get some pocket warmers for chicks for the trip at Walmart here in CA and found them on sale for 67 cents ea. Half price. Now to get the chicks. Doing the happy chicken dance.

Will be back in WA soon. It is too hot here, it was in the 70's today. My poor eyes are not used to all this sun. Snow????
