Well, it wasn't entirely my fault. I was using it to put the hay in the trough and he came in to grab a bite off the fork and we collided. I felt horrible. He is such a love normally and when I went out to feed last night (by hand this time), he backed away from me.

I just figure that I will have to replenish my laying flock from time to time and thought it would be nice to have a separate coop for broodies and babies. OR I could have a separate coop just for having fun chickens, like all these sweet silkies and such that I keep seeing. Oh yeah, I am definitely going to get

It's a good thing he doesn't get on BYC and see all the crazy ideas I keep getting. Yikes!!

Yes from the looks of it the big one is too big to move in one piece with out oversize permits etc.
Yeah, I didn't think about that part of it. OK, I really better get busy now. At least get the critters fed and the kidlet fed. It doesn't look too bad today, so maybe I will move the dog kennel down to the coop so the big chicks can get some supervised exercise today. I really need to get working on my permanent run.

That is too funny! I can't wait to get all kinds of different ammenities for my flock! My garage is a hospital right now. Baby buns on the way! I wasn't going to move her inside, but red mites forced it, and I realized it's so much warmer in there than in the hutch, so I caved, new cage is going in today. I cave a lot to adorable farm critters and small children... I'm gonna have bunnies!!!!

That just sunk in...

I think I found my farm future... Please pray/think/meditate/send me happy thoughts about this. Leaving a career to be a farmer, sounds a little crazy, but let me rephrase: leaving a career I dread/can't stand that's making me despise computers, people and society, to be a farmer... yep that sounds MUCH better.

Happy thoughts happy thoughts happy thoughts!!! 125 acres of happy thoughts... OMGosh!!!

I dont know if I should be happy for you, or just hate you to death :)

I can totally relate to leaving a career to go farm - scary, but it is what I want to do.
