Okay, I just answered my own question about staggered hatches. Not all of us are as cool as VF having two incubators - one for incubating and the other for hatching.

(maybe someday!)
If I had just gotten out of my own way I would have realized that when I go into lockdown this week that I'll be unplugging the turner and since it's LOCKDOWN, won't be able to turn the newest eggs if I put them in the 'bator.

So my little cochin eggs and my gf's Ameraucana eggs will just "chill" in the garage for the next 6 days or so until my current chicks hatch. And I'm pretty obsessive careful about turning my hatching eggs until they go into the incubator so all should be good.

Last year I had a single Ameraucana egg that Pips&Peeps had given me at the show that the hen I purchased had laid on the way over. I carried that egg in my pocket, then in my car cup holder home from Monroe, then turned it for a full 10 days while I waited for the new Ameraucana to hatch any more fertile eggs. I finally gave up on her, popped that poor little egg in the 'bator with some of zgoatlady's wheaten Marans eggs and I'll be darned if that little beauty wasn't the first to pip, zip, and hatch.

She was my little miracle baby until I gave the chicks to my gf and her Silkie terrier got in the grow out coop and killed 5 of the chicks, including my miracle baby.
