Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

So, we had some drama here tonight.... As I was bringing in two of our gsd's from outside, I noticed Anja was limping.... Upon further inspection, I found a cut about a cm long going vertically up her leg just below her 'wrist' or carpus, I think it's called.

The cut was a couple of mm wide, 2 or 3. The only ER vet around here is about 3x the cost of your normal vet, and this girl is due for a spay as well....

So I gave her a happy pill(ace)and antibiotic, and cleaned/flushed, shaved, steri-stripped, and vet wrapped it---

She and I are camped out on the couch, and the alarm is set to call the vet ASAP in the morning.

I will say, I kick but at wrapping dog feet, lol.... Certainly had enough practice with my klutzy dogs ;-)

Eta: the discovery, ace and antibiotic was all about 9-9:30, we are just now really settling for 'bed'

Sarahkatie....... So sorry to hear about your dog's injury, it sounds like you did a great job with the first aid!

Also, I absolutely love the picture of your little boy and his chicks! Sounds like he's being super responsible, too, so cool.

My eggs are on day 24 now. I candled them and they are all still moving. Days 1-17 temp was 99-100 degrees and humidity was about 35%. Days 18-current(24) temp is still 99-100 degrees and humidity 75%. None of them have internally pipped from what I could tell and none of them have hatched. Do you guys think they will still hatch since they are still moving? What do you think went wrong? or what do i need to change?
Ahhhhh, it's so hard to be patient! lol

I also posted this in the April hatch along thread.

He's pretty happy with the chicks :) very insistent that they are HIS to take care of :)

Dang. I'm sorry for your puppy. I hope it heals quickly.

I have to say I know that being used as a bed position. My Athena tries to get her head as close to mine as possible. She's not supposed to be on the bed unless invited, but when DH gets up in the morning, she'll hop up in his spot. Sometimes she falls asleep while he's in the shower, then I get a barking wake up as she freaks out when he gets out.
