They got them for a few hours fun then realize... Uhhhh Ohhhh... Now what?

I think short of an actual seeding machine, that has got to be the quickest way - I like how you could use Elmer's white glue if you wanted. Very cool.

I wonder how long they keep. There must not be enough moisture in the paste to make the seed germinate.
I do use the Elmer's glue and a toothpick so nothing gets stuck to my fingers. I did mine in Jan. and planted in April no sign of germination I think the glue kind of gave them a little seal and they also did not fall off the paper which is what I was afraid of with the flour paste.

Hi Guys.... I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed the sun... Ours was very very busy... Saturday started out with my hubby making a trip to Coastal and getting 10 free chicks... I have no idea what kind they are the lady simply said they are mixed layers... um ok... So now we have peepers. Yesterday we did Easter egg hunt with the kiddos and Easter baskets then started on the yard. Today we spent outside clearing a 50 x 15 foot area for the new chicken run.... Made a trip to the dump, got a load of dirt and had a huge bon fire and even roasted marsh mellows for smores... so yummy... We got the yard cleaned and the coop in place, boy was it heavy and the run fenced off with t-post... Next weekend we are gonna put in the 4x4 post and build a door for the run and repaint the coop... So much to do so little time... Just hope the weather will be nice next weekend as well. Here are our new chicks.... I am thinking RIR, Red Sexlink and maybe White Leghorns And here is the new run.... It use to be knee high with old wood, metal scraps and blackberry bushes. The t-post will be replaced with 4x4 post.

There is always a male silkie on watch. They take turns dust bathing and eating. 2 males to 5 females seems to work fine for them. Maybe later I'll get a couple black hens.

Seriously. I have always wondered the same thing. "Oh, wait. You mean these are real and have to be taken care of?" His wife thought they would be cute for the Easter egg hunt?!?!

Grandparents bought the chicks, ok. They probably figured cute for Easter, yet would grow up to be practical. But, there is no way either of my parents would even dream of doing that. And I live on a farm!!

8 silkies. 2 black 2 splash and 4 blue.
I am selling these.
They are SO sweet!!

I have a silkie rooster that I got free, because the lady had too many. He is the sweetest thing ever. His personality has made me want to get him a couple hens too. I truly love him.

I have done this for carrots and radishes but using paper napkins from fast food places, separate to one ply. great thing to do in winter while watching TV. You seldom have to thin them, very easy for square foot gardening.

oh -- oh -- oh great idea I like that! Great for Kids!
I also make pots from rolled newspaper. They decompose SO much better than peat pots (hate those expensive little buggers) and they cost absolutely nothing!
Thanks!

When you have no idea where they are going, all roads lead you there.

I really hate the fact that I am currently stuck "working for the man". Pay is great, but when I come home, I am unfulfilled. If I were a braver man, I'd put together a plan that would get me on the road that heads to where I need to be.

I hate hows society frowns on non-conformers.

Been there, done that. I walked away from a very good paying job even when my husband was unemployed (many years ago). It was a little rocky for a while, but my health improved, my little girl's health improved, and my life eventually got much better. If you can create the life you want, with the people you want, and be a non-conformist then the only thing that is stopping you is you. The world is filled with non-conformists. When you start looking for them you begin to see them everywhere. And if you can see a friend, for instance, that is living happily as a non-conformist it helps you to see that different can work just fine.

Knowing you want something different may just be the motivation that leads you to a few changes, even if they are small changes. Here's hoping you find what makes you happy!
