Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Oooh, it came today! It only took about 20 minutes to figure it out. Threading took longest - old eyes and tiny needles.

Now, got to get the neck straight-jacket off so I can see to sew!

Himself is talking about getting pigeons and quail! Tasty food. anyone know anything?
My Mothers tells me that during the depression, that their family of 10 children and rents. Kept pigeons for any extra meat that they could get. It was her job to climb up the 10 foot ladder and check for squabs, they had to be pulled before they had feathers, while they were still on crop milk. Her mother would bake them in large pans with stuffing like chickens or turkeys.
I just don't think that I could eat a baby. Plus you need to check how healthy it is to have chickens and pigeons close together.

Here's my problem: we will be gone for a week the first week in June in San Diego..... A friend of my moms is coming to stay with my dog at night but that's all she'll do. The only way I could have the chicks is if someone could take them for me while I'm gone! plus I don't have ANY supplies for them

Do they make a ton of noise when you butcher them?

Chickens don't make any noise if ya butcher them in certain ways. BUT it can be gross to watch.
