You build and decorate their little homes so nice and they would prefer to lay in a bush in the woods. Have to go look for their new hiding spot. 1 egg from 4 hens in 3 days. Easter Egg hunt. Those darn EE chickens. You are not supposed to hide them.I haven't built my chicken run yet (duck of shame) and it is a TERRIBLE thing because my run ideas keep evolving! Now I'm thinking there needs to be a fort tower at the run entrance, and a massive gate.....
By the time I am done, these chickens are going to have a draw bridge, surrounded by a mote of man-eating sharks with laser beams.
I don't understand either, why can't we have them, I was told the noise factor. Well in my neighborhood, almost everyone here has 2 or more dogs, and all day and all night all you hear is dogs barking and barking and barking and barking and barking and barking and barking and barking...................................................... :/ the chickens would make less noise, and ontop of that, our neighbor has a rabbit. Those according to the "code" are also classified as livestock and supposidly NOT allowed, and you can even see their rabbit from the road, as their back porch is on the second floor. So I will be emailing the mayor too and have my husband do it and anyone else that would like to help PLEASE message the Yelm Wa. mayor about letting chickens in the backyard!! Thank you all so much for the help, still nothing back from the officer, he's waiting on someone else that knows the code better to get back to him. Sounds like a bunch of whooy to me!
