NICE try but no die !! See half empty means there is fuel being removed thus drawing fresh air in. Where as Half full means fuel is flowing into the barrel thus causing highly flammable gasses to be pushed out and into atmosphere!
Interesting...I was thinking half full as gas going into storage and being placed somewhere safe, and half empty as it being removed, possibly as a spill or being burned up, hadn't considered the fumes! Then again, a barrel's a barrel no matter how much gas is in it or where the gas is going, so I'd think the danger factor of the barrel itself would stay the same

Actually, gasoline in its liquid form is 100% non-flammable. It is the vapors that are EXTREMELY flammable. Put gas in a coffee can and let it sit outside for a month and then throw a match into it, the match will extinguish like it was thrown into water. I have done this myself.
