So my broody EE that's on eggs let me know she's been gentle when she's tried to rip my hand apart. Anything else that comes near her gets much more viciously attacked. She managed to bruise me as well as draw blood when I checked her nest for extra eggs.
So the chicks from the two eggs that were under the broody that was killed, then I put the eggs under a silkie to hatch, turn 10 weeks old in a couple days. Both are female. That make me very happy. The one that is half ameraucana looks like a bit lighter patterning of her EE mother. The other one is a wheaten ameraucana. As a chick she had a very light ghosting of stripes on her back and I thought she might be an EE as well.
I moved them both in with the main flock a few days ago. No one has bothered them and the cockerel in there lets them snuggle under him at night.
