Hello,
I am new to the world of Chickens & Ducks ! I live on Whidbey Island with my family. We are preparing to move to Ferndale to 5 acres and have decided to add to our family ... chickens/ducks. We are going to start small. I have been reading all over the internet about care... coops... care... breeds... etc. I was shocked to find out the cost of a pre-assembled coop. Hence trying to find a coop someone is selling used or .. building our own. We are looking at a tractor type coop. This grand plan was to all fall together in the next 3 months. Last night a friend asked if I wanted 6 or more chickens as they have way to many. The pressure is on to find a coop.... any help or suggestions would be wonderful. Or if anyone knows of a coop being sold in Whidbey, Mount Vernon or North area.

Yes I have lived on Craigs List for the last few days LOL.. seems here in WA we think a lot of our stuff LOL Cheaper in OR but factor in the gas... BUT I will continue to live on C.L. As I know something will pop up ...Thanks

Welcome to the Washington State thread. Feel free to jump in and ask questions. There was a storage container posted about 4 or 5 pages back. It would make the start of a coop for you. There are also the coops built out of pallets. So it pays to watch for those also.

And Yes a Kilt ! My kids play in a Scottish Pipe Band in Canada. Hope chickens like Pipes & Drums LOL
