Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Figured out *** I did with my right arm that makes it hurt so much: helped the hired hand put the hay up on the storage table, is what I did, and strained an old strain. Bummer.

Waiting for the aspirin to kick in a little so I can stand up and walk out the door and not cry before I get to the back door. I have too much work to get done today to hurt this badly.

ETA Oh, cute. We replace initials and abbreviations with asterisks these days? Ones that the DOL doesn't censor from license plates, even? This site isn't even aimed at the lowest common denominator, it's down to baby talk and pre-K Sunday school.

I've heard a retired Bishop use that particular acronym from the pulpit.

BUSY BUSY BUSY !!!!!

DH is a sys admin/desk top tech support guy for a bunch of structural engineers, cartographers, and "make sure the bridges meet in the middle" folks at WS-DOT (it was by ignoring the latter the project manager for the Sprague Street project proved that design-build is not a substitute for "check measurements") but even he would rather replace a bad computer than spend a whole weekend reviving one with a dead hard drive. Although I think Ogress's sounds more like a bad power supply or possibly a sick video chip.
She said she got a virus last year & it has not ever been good since.
And as far as software & hardware................it is all Greek to me !!

Well, stopped in to say HEY to everyone...
Now I am going out to deal with the newly installed back door in my new kitchen, which is still under construction.
Love the door, it is a 9-lite so it looks like a dutch door...very pretty & veiws out into the woods.

I am going to sell off a flock of 9 or 10 R/C LBLs....$5 each if anyone is interested.
(Rose Comb Light brown Leghorns)
anyone interested PM me.....I have them for a breeding project & now they must go.
8 are just 4 mo old now and have not begun lay yet.
They are flighty, and would be a great free range-roost in a tree-type bird that looks out for themselves.
Give me a PM if interested.
BYE GUYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very excited, we got our very first egg layed earlier this week from our Cuckoo Maran!!! She lays at about 1pm every day in the same spot on the floor. Can't wait for the rest of the girls to start laying... we've got lots of people in the house fighting to eat the one egg each morning :)
Cuckoo Marans has an s on the end, single or plural, same as Salmon Faverolles! Just FYI.

Meanwhile DH is famous for bringing his antivirus disks to parties and making the hosts computers healthy and happy. Which I am not right now. Diamond Dave, the splash AM rooster, is right poorly; he has had a poopy butt off and on since I got him in April, and once before when the temperature dropped after a warm spell he was weak for a day or so; I increased his wind protection and cleaned up the water and feed pans and he got better immediately. This morning (it was 45 two nights in a row, with no wind) he's in a ball and weak to death- not paralysed, he can stand up when he's feeling offended, and walk a step or two- but otherwise Not Healthy, and his crop is completely empty. I gave him yoghurt and wrapped him up, but I am unhappy, and pessimistic- and Bluebelle is frantic, although in perfect health. The woman I got him from had treated him with both Eprinex and Valbizen the week before I brought him home, which I thought at the time was an overkill. He's been fertile (is the pappy of the 8 chicks down with Malvina, who are all running around and growing fast) and other than being easily startled and prone to flying into the roof (maybe he's had vision problems? Is that possible?) has been a regular old rooster except for his problems with the cold.

So here's something I'm doing today, I'm getting my Christmas list.going I'm going to try and quilt something for everyone on my list. Yep I'm the girl who like stress. Ha ha. But I'm really going to try.

Stumpfarmer:

is this one of your chicks? Hubby got them mixed up - I think this is one of yours. CL marked hers JG and the Marans are obvious. I know you gave me some Am/Aus, but can't remember if the BLRW were marked. Some are marked W (Wyandotte?) so are the others Hamburgs? Is this a Hamburg? (I hope they all hatch early - although it's only day 19)
