I wanted to say hi on this thread. I'm new to chickens - we have 6 chicks in my brooder for almost a week now. We decided to get chicks when we moved to Snohomish County and our new property had a coop on it. DH & I have been working on getting the coop cleaned & fixed up for the eventual move. If anyone has any advice/tips/resources I'd love to hear them. I am sure I'll be checking this thread all the time now that I know it exists, but feel free to PM me as well! (I realize that there is probably a lot of info in this thread - but it's a bit too long to try reading all of.)

Hey! Anyone know of a black copper maran breeder in washington? Not hatchery stuff. And also a real ameraucana breeder with blue eggs? I want to have colorful eggs to collect this next round! Anyone in enumclaw or king county that hatches them?![]()
Anyone out in the P.A. / Sequim area????
Yup. Pretty much. So spread the word
Too bad you missed the show in Monroe Saturday, there were several breeders that you could have met up with. The next opportunity to see several in one place will be the Mother Earth News Fair at the Puyallup Fair Grounds in May (I think). Even if you've already bought what you want it's a good place to meet breeders for the future. And it's fun.
Thanks Matt, The beauty of this fair is that its based on education, not like a regular fair with the midway mentality. I was there with the llama education exhibit but came over to say Hi and enjoy the poultry. Highly recommend it to everyone….The show dates for that one are May 31/June 1. Should be a good show, I'm hoping my Langshans get fertile so I can hatch enough out to feel safe showing my adults.
