Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

That is great news that the whole flock is already spoken for. It is one less thing for the family to have to worry about.

Fantastic!

I'm in spokane Wa and have a D'uccle rooster I picked up but the lady lied to me and said he is good with dogs. That is a lie he is completely terrified of them so I'm trying to find him a home with no dogs as I feel it is really unfair for him to stay here.

Hello everyone! My family and I recently moved to the Duvall area. We have a one year old black silkie rooster we are needing to rehome (for free), and I was wondering if anyone might be interested in him here. I think he's a pretty good type, but honestly I'm not really sure. He has the fifth toe. We don't have any mites or worms, and have any suspicious deaths (there's been only one) necroscopied and tested for Mareks, so I feel confident that he is in good health and won't be passing anything on to a new flock. Obviously being safe with introducing a new chicken and keeping them apart for a time is still a good idea. He has lived peacefully with other large fowl roosters before, as well as LF hens, bantam hens, and chicks. He has recently been aggressive and pecked my daughter a few times and our priority is that she feels safe and is able to visit all her chicken friends, so we'd like to find him a new place. We also have cats and dogs that he is used to. He's very polite to the hens and calls them over for treats and tries to woo them with little dances.

I have pictures on my phone, I'll post them tomorrow :)

Our chickens were terrified of cats when we got them. After a few weeks they started getting along. Perhaps your rooster will get used to the dog in a couple of weeks. Our cats jump on top of the coop and the chickens don't care at all now.

He is literally endangering him self trying to get away from my dogs. He just runs and almost broke his neck running into my fence. So no he isn't going to get used to the dogs. I have chickens that am were afraid but now are okay with them but he is completely terrified of them.

Looking for folks from the Spokane area of Washington. I'm looking for a few more chicken. Also have someone in the CDA area that has two nice young ameraucana rooster that need a home. Thanks Lynn
